lipsticks: pass or pay

When is the best time to fork out the dough for the more expensive brands like MAC or NARS? That is always the magic question! I have honestly learned to read a lot of reviews before buying any kind of lipstick. (Is that weird?!) and sometimes on Pinterest I can literally find a really similar shade for less.

At the same time, for my MAC fave, “Rebel”, I had searched and searched for a great plum/purple shade before buying the actual thing. And none gave me the look I wanted until forked out the cash and lhonestly, I have never had buyer remorse for this particular lipstick! Get it [here]

I am deathly afraid of nude lipsticks, so it was a better fit for me to try out a drugstore one first. As a fair skinned girl, it is kind of ominous. Honestly, I am impressed with L’oreal’s new line of lipsticks. They are called “Le Matte” and “La Lacque”. One kind is matte obviously and the other is more glossy, depending on what you like. My favorite colors are “She’s so Matte” and “Choco-Lacque”. Get them at most drug stores!

Lastly, if you want a great Chapstick, check out “BabyLips” from Maybelline. I love the blue one. It goes well under any lipstick.
